CERTIFIED AND INSURED

To become a Certified Professional Inspector CPI®, the inspector must:

Maintain an InterNACHI membership;

Pass InterNACHI's Inspector Examination

Complete InterNACHI's  Code of Ethics Course

Complete InterNACHI's  Standards of Practice Course

If a person has never performed any fee-paid inspections, they must:

Submit four mock inspection reports to InterNACHI's Report Review Committee,

Once above requirements are complete, the inspector must:

Sign the affidavit to become a Certified Professional Inspector CPI®;

Download the Certified Home Inspector Certificate from their InterNACHI Members-Only Account.

To maintain certification, inspector must:

Substantially adhere to the InterNACHI Standards of Practice or the standard required by law in your jurisdiction;

Abide by the InterNACHI Code of Ethics for Home Inspectors;

Comply with InterNACHI's Continuing Education Policy; and

Maintain an up-to-date Members-Only Account.

Within the first year after joining InterNACHI, inspector must complete:

InterNACHI's  Safe Practices for the Home Inspector course

InterNACHI's  25 Standards Every Inspector Should Know

InterNACHI's  Residential Plumbing Overview for Inspectors course

InterNACHI's  How to Perform Residential Electrical Inspections course

InterNACHI's How to Perform Roof Inspections course

InterNACHI's  How to Inspect HVAC Systems course

InterNACHI's Structural Issues for Home Inspectors course

InterNACHI's How to Perform Exterior Inspections course

InterNACHI's How to Inspect the Attic, Insulation, Ventilation and Interior course

InterNACHI's  How to Perform Deck Inspections course  

InterNACHI's  How to Inspect for Moisture Intrusion course

InterNACHI's  How to Inspect Fireplaces, Stoves, and Chimneys course

Every three years, the inspector must pass InterNACHI's  Inspector Examination with a score of 80% or better
